Biochar is a horticultural charcoal that holds onto oxygen and nutrients while also storing microbes and carbon in the soil.
Pumice is a naturally occurring volcanic rock that is lightweight and porous, helping to improve soil drainage and aeration.
Mycorrhizae are beneficial microorganisms that form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, allowing the plants to absorb more nutrients.
Sand has large grain size, coarse texture, and high silica content to support soil drainage.
Pine Bark Fines are a byproduct of the mulch industry which enhance soil structure and improve aeration.
Compost helps reduce waste in landfills by turning green waste and wood waste into a useful source of nutrients for plants.
PRE-MOISTEN
To make the transition easier for your plant roots, we recommend pre-moistening Rosy Soil. Slowly sprinkle water over the soil in a separate container until it is slightly moist. Work through any dry pockets and aim for light, even moisture throughout the mix.
POT OR RE-POT
Select a well-draining planter and partially fill with a base of pre-moistened Rosy Soil.
PLANT
Gently release your plant from its current container, loosen its roots, and center into the pot. Fill the remaining space with Rosy Soil, leaving an inch at the top for easy watering.
WATER
After planting, it is best to wait a week or two before watering to allow the roots time to adjust to their new environment. We recommend bottom watering, with an occasional top watering to refresh the soil.
